I need help with my math homework......... can someone show or tell me how to work this problem?
1.) You want to buy a bouquet of yellow roses and baby's breath for $16. The baby's breath costs $3.50 per bunch, and the roses cost $2.50 each. You want one bunch of baby's breath and some roses for your bouguet. How many roses can you buy?
My teach wants me to write the equation so yeah. PLEASE HELP ME?!?!?!
I need help with my homework!!!!?
its the weekend
i dnt want to do math
Reply:if I tell you then I'm doing your homework for you, then how are you going to learn anything?
Reply:You do this....
16.00
-03.50 this is the babys breath!
______
12.50 then you divide by 2.50 to find the number or roses you can get
the answere is 5
Reply:tell him six bucks for a rose and baby breath because times are hard. $2.50 + $3.50 = $6.00 and your done!
Reply:16=3.50 + 2.50 x
subtract 3.50 from both sides and then divide by 2.50 on each side
Reply:ok heres what to do you have sixteen dollars so you only want one bunch of baby's breath so take 3.50 from sixteen
16.00
-3.50
``````````
12.50
then take the remaining 12.50 and see how many times 2.50 will go into it..(or multiply 2.50 untill you reach the closest number to 12.50)
12.50 / 2.50 ( / = divide sign)(which will come up five)
or
2.50 x 5 (in this case the awnser is five)
so the awnser would be you can buy five roses
hope this helps
jen
Reply:ok you would do
16 - 3.50 = 2.50x
now just do order of operations and you'll get it. :)
Reply:$16-$3.50= $12.50
$12.50/$2.50=5
You will have 5 roses and one bunch of baby's breath for $16.
Reply:its 5 batches of roses i think i just need the pionts so i dont think i'm right i just made my answer up..what grade are you in that is the easiest question just i dont feel like doing math right now srry...
Reply:it is quite simple.
let x be the no. of bouquets and y b the no. of baby's breaths you buy.
1. you bought one bouquet of yellow roses. so, the amount you have is 16-2.50 = 15.50$.
let x be the no. of baby's breaths you can buy.
so, x*3.5=13.5 =%26gt;x=13.5/3.5 = 3.86. since you cant buy a fraction of it, you can only buy three of this.
so, youbuy one bouquet of rose and 3 bouquets of baby roses.
or, similarly, if you buy one bby's breatj, you are left with 16-3.50=12.50.
so, the no. of roses you can buy is 12.50/2.50=5 roses.
:)
Reply:16= 3.50b + 2.50r (b for babys breath, r for roses)
16= 3.50(1) + 2.50r
16 - 3.50 =2.50r
12.50 = 2.50r
r =12.50/2.50
r=5
so you can buy five roses.
Reply:OK. Let C=Cash available = $16.
Let B = cost of baby's breath (bunch)= $3.50.
Let R = cost of 1 rose = $2.50
Let N=no. of roses.
Firstly C-B = $16- $3.50= $12.50.
Secondly $12.50/R= 5
You can therefore buy 5 roses.
Equation might be (C-B)/R =N
Hope this helps.
Reply:CHART TIME!
Amt. Price Total
Roses: x 2.50 2.50x
BabyBreth: 1 3.50 3.50
so 2.5x+3.5= 16
