It's a mix of a beautiful array of wildflowers including Baby's Breath, Cornflower Tall Blue, SIberiaan Wallfower, Scarlet Flax, Rose Mallow, Shirley Poppy, Catchfly, Black-Eyed Sunsan, and a bunch more! It says it'll plant 50 to 70 square feet! It says it should be planted in full sun but most of my yard is mostly shaded, would they still come up or should I maybe plant them in my neighbor's empty field (they won't mind)? Will I have to spray them since we have many deer and rabbits around my area. Oh, I live in SouthWest Michigan. It had been between 50 degrees to 75 degress the past few weeks. It still gets very chilly at night but the danger of frost is almost over. So, would NOW be a good time to plant them and what's the best way to plant them? THANKS! AND THANKS IF YOU ANSWERED MY DAFFODIL/TULIP QUESTION AS WELL! I JUST LOVE SPRING AND I JUST LOVE FLOWERS! Oh, when should these bloom if I plant them today???
When should I plant the "Wildflowers Premium Mix" that I got and where?
I'm in SW Michigan, too! And I just bought a wildflower mix as well.
The box says early spring (that's now) or late in the year so they have time to become established. Early spring is good. In nature, the seeds will be on the ground all winter and then come up naturally in the spring with the rain and warmer weather.
The key will be keeping them wet. You should put some straw over the top of them and water them a couple of times per day until they are looking healthy. Leave the straw, it will help hold moisture as the summer goes on. Again, watering in the summer will get you much prettier and more blooms.
Most will bloom mid to late summer. many of the flowers will be even bigger next year as their root systems get bigger. Some may not come back next year if they are annuals.
Good luck!
Reply:if you planted them today they should start coming up 6 to 8 weeks from know blooming july or august.

Breast support for wedding dress....?
Hello,
I'm getting married next month, and I need to find a great bra/bustier/some kind of support for my wedding dress. Here's what it looks like:
http://www.justinalexanderbridal.com/us_...
What are your recommendations?
Also, I love everything about this dress BUT the low-cut sweetheart neckline. My seamstress is going to close the gap a little, but I was thinking of sticking some fresh, white flowers, such as baby's breath and a white rose or a peony down there to cover it. I think it'd be a romantic idea. What do you think?
Breast support for wedding dress....?
Just wanted to say . . .
I think that is a lovely gown!
My recommendation would be to go to your local bridal shop. See what lingerie they have available . . . and ask them what will work best with your gown. Usually the bridal shop ladies are experts! They will know and will be happy to advise you.
Good luck with your shopping.
Reply:Have your seamstress build cups into the lining of your dress if possible. It's usually cheaper than buying an expenive piece you'll only wear once. Very pretty dress. Don't stick anything in it.
Reply:WoW! Your dress is amazing!! Might I suggest that you have ur seamstress put cups in ur dress... this way you are free to move around with out a bra showing or poking you all night! Good Luck and Congrats!!
Reply:That's a GORGEOUS dress...don't ruin it by sticking dead flowers between your boobs.
No matter how you try to play it (romantic or not) they're flowers....down your dress.....don't do it.
Get to Victoria Secret and have them fit you properly. They'll hook you up with an awesome bra (though it is a bit pricey...usually about 50 bucks for a bra). It will, however, make you look amazing.
Good luck
Reply:Your dress is GORGEOUS!!

They have great items for under wedding dresses
Reply:hope one of this helps you....good luck
CONGRATULATIONS
Reply:The dress is beautiful just like it is. If you are having the front modified forget the putting flowers there. I hope you are having a wonderful wedding. The dress is beautiful. And if you are wearing the dress so are you
Also if you are after a bustier look don't have the dress altered.
Reply:Love the dress! I had the seamstress sew in some cups. You don't want to be pulling up a bra or bustier all night. The cups will push you up and keep you in place.
Reply:your dress is beautiful and pretty! well i think you should wear a white lace singlet underneath the dress gives coverage while looking sexy at the same time, buy a nice expensive white lace singlet, soft lace because it will show with the dress and you would want it to look like its part of the dress
:) have lots of fun at your wedding and keep us up to date hun.
Reply:For starters, your dress is absolutely lovely. Regardless of wether it's being altered at the neckline or not, don't stick flowers down your cleavage. There is already embelishment on the gown in that area, and adding flowers will just look tacky, or trashy, depending on the point of view. If you want a flower on you that isn't in your bouquet, try putting rose buds in your hair, or another small white blossom. That will give you more of the romantic look you are wanting.
As for a bra, here are a few suggestions:

http://www.ballroomgifts.com/NuBra.html
http://www.outblush.com/women/fashion/li... This one can be worn 100 diffrent ways
http://advantagebridal.com/undergarments...
Hope some of these help! And congratulations on your wedding!!
Reply:I would purchase a backless, strapless bra. Just make sure you put baby powder on your skin before puttng the bra, stockings, and undergarments on. It will keep you cooler and make you a lot more comfortable. As for the low cut sweetheart neckline, letting your seamstress close the gap a little is fine. Calling attention to the low cut neckline by putting flowers in your cleavage is crass and low class. You want to de-emphasize the sweetheart neckline in one sentence and in the next you want to emphasize it. Just let the seamstress do her job and leave well enough alone.

I bought my mom 4 bouquets of flowers (red and pink roses)...?
..."baby's breath" stuff, leaves, fern stuff, you know, the whole expensive nine yards, 3wks ago, "just because"...
I never got a chance to give them to her, went out of state on business(new demanding a ss job status, whatever...)
The bouquets are now all dead and dried up...
...but, wow, they are just absolutely lovely! Is there anything I can do with them now to preserve them?

You can press them in a heavy book and use them to decorate birthday or Mother's Day cards. And it smells pretty!
Reply:Spray paint them and glue them onto a tile with a few pictures of you and your mom together. Maybe paint your names or a picture on their too. Remember that it is the thought that counts. :)
Reply:maybe you can buy new ones and give it to her by surprising her.

they wont last forever but a few good months :)

Do people really roll over on their babies when co sleeping?
i sleep with my 3 and a half month old daughter. i remember asking the nurse in the hospital if i could bring her in the bed with me and she said no, that many women really regret bringing their babies in the bed and she said it in a tone like i was stupid for even thinking about it. i believed her and was scared to co sleep for the first few weeks f my baby's life.
the frequent nightime feedings were getting really hard on me and my mom told me that i wouldnt roll over on the baby. she said she slept with us when we were little and she couldnt imagine how someone could actually roll over on thier baby. now that i have been co sleeping for 3 months i agree with her. if your aware enough in your sleep to not roll of the edge of the bed then why do people think we're going to roll on our babies.
so my question is do people really squash their babies or is that just a myth like cats stealing baby's breath
Do people really roll over on their babies when co sleeping?
Your daughter will sleep with you until shes 18.
Worst thing you can do wis sleep with a child.
Reply:i have a 3 month old son, and often take naps with him. im a really light sleeper and dont move around much, and if i do want to roll over i always wake up first. once he starts rolling over i probably wont anymore though.
Reply:My mom said that back in the old country, when she was a little girl, she remembers a mother running out of a house screaming that she suffocated her baby in his sleep by rolling on him. She says it haunts her till this day. I sleep with our little guy a couple days a week and luckily, I've never rolled on him..used to have him in bed with us every night when he was born till 3 months old or more and never an issue
Reply:I think Dads are more likely to roll over their baby. They don't really have that mommy instinct that lets you know your baby's there. I know my husband nearly rolled on to our son when he was a few weeks old, he felt bad when I woke him up. So now I sleep in between them. I think I'll find out the hard way that my son can roll over soon though.
Reply:I have NEVER rolled over when my son is in my bed and I am normally a tosser and turner. The obesity thing gets me... LOL I am fat and my husband is skinny. He's the one you have to watch out for! We don't co-sleep when daddy is home......
Reply:There are people who roll over on their babies but most of them are either drunk, high or obese. If you are breastfeeding you are even more aware of your baby and your sleep stages will actually line up. I have been sleeping with my one year old since she was 3 months old and love it. As long as you are doing it safely it is a great thing. Here are recommendations on sleep safety.

Here is a great article on the benefits of cosleeping. http://www.askdrsears.com/html/7/T071000...
Reply:I don't think there has ever been a documented case. I co-slept with my 2nd child until she was 3 months old. I think it's natural for Mom and baby to sleep together..I mean think about it...most of the animal kingdom does it.
Reply:it does happen. it's not a myth. of course it's more likely to happen if you are a very heavy sleeper (who is with a new baby) or if you've been drinking. and if you're nursing that's not likely. some babies have a lot of trouble "bed breaking" (getting them to sleep on there own). there are crib type things that attach to your bed so that the baby is right there next to you but you cannot roll over on top of him.
Reply:some people are really heavy sleepers, my sister once had a kiiten in bed with her and suffocated it to death:( most people can sleep with their babies no prob like me but others, yes will squish or suffocate their babies.
Reply:I am not sure about others but my boy is 4 months old, he has been sleeping with us since he was a week old. I have never rolled over on him and neither has my husband.
Reply:We co-slept with our son until he was 18 months, and we never rolled over onto him. If you aren't an alcoholic, obese, or on drugs, then co-sleeping is generally safe.
Reply:We have slept with our twin daughters as well as with our infant son. In addition to the causes of overlaying already mentioned, I have also read in a wonderful book entitled, Our Babies, Ourselves: How Biology and Culture Shape the Way We Parent, that many cases both now and throughout history are actually thought to have been infanticide. Specifically in my local area there was a parent who did this twice and the local authorities figured it out only after the second baby died.
Reply:I've been told that it actually happens.... but I co-slept with my 3 boys, and never rolled over on top of them... but apparently there are some deep sleepers that don't realize what's happening. I don't know.
Reply:yes it does happen....but breastfeeding mothers are highly unlikely for this to happen to
let's remember that outside of drug/alcohol/sleep meds mothers are very aware of their infant's presence
more babies die alone in their cribs
Reply:I disagree that the only people who roll onto their babies are fat, drunk, or drug-addicted. Obviously, those are characteristics of people that are more prone, however, it can happen to a lot of different people. Everybody sleeps different and there are good moms that are heavy sleepers.
Also, part of the risk is not just rolling over the baby, but the baby being suffocated by blankets or pillows, or when the bed is not set up "baby-friendly" that the baby rolls off the bed and can suffocate between the bed and a wall or is covered on the floor with a blanket, etc. You do have to really re-evaluate the bed since the infant doesn't have the instinct to not roll out of bed.
Also, a significant percentage of suffocation deaths while parent and baby are sleeping together happen on the couch when baby is sleeping on top and rolls in between the couch and the adult and suffocates. Sometimes it is not even a parent that typically co-sleeps but a parent who has fallen asleep with the baby on the couch.
There was a woman in my area ( I didn't know her just read the story) that was napping with her daughter and rolled over her and the infant died. The woman committed suicide right after. She was a normal business woman, not a low-life.
I don't disagree with co-sleeping. However, I do believe that a child can die from a parent who was not using drugs or alcohol or is obese. It's not like a person is exempt if they don't fall into one of those categories. There are certain precautions you can take to make your bed safer for an infant, however they are not 100%.
Reply:It is very rare and every documented case is attributed to sleeping disorders, drug/alcohol use, or severe obesity. Co-sleeping is generally very safe and shows to offer a decrease in SIDS risk.

I live in Hawaii. Will some flowers considered "annual" become perennial?
I notice a lot of the time on seed packets and what not, that the flowers will not survive the frost etc. I am totally new at growing flowers, but since I live in Hawaii where the temperature is usually warm and stable, will some flowers considered annual bloom all year round?
For example, I have baby's breath and sunflowers that are considered annual, will they bloom all year around?
And P.S. - When flowers are listed as ANNUAL, does this mean they will bloom during their blooming season, and then stay DORMANT until the season comes again, or die? Or do I even need to worry about this since i live in Hawaii which I believe is zone 9?
I live in Hawaii. Will some flowers considered "annual" become perennial?
Annuals are described as plants that develop from seeds, flower, fruit and die within a year. After a year, they complete their life cycle, go to seed and then die. There are a few exceptions and some annuals are described as "hardy annuals" and persist a little longer, even a year or two.
I too am in zone 9, but I'm in California. Annuals still behave like annuals for me, I just think we get a little longer life out of them than in climates where it's colder.
There is a note of caution that sometimes the plant is listed incorrectly as an annual or perennial. For example, Heliotropium, Lantana and Pelargonium are true perennials but most people list them as annuals since they are not very hardy. In my climate they all live on, but in zone 5 or so they will die and are treated like annuals. To get you started, it would be nice to invest in a "Sunset Western Garden Book" and they also have specialty books and one just on annuals.
Hope this helps you! Best of luck.

Preserving Bridal Bouquet?
I'm looking to preserve my bridal bouquet. After the wedding, my new husband and I are driving back home the next day (5 hour trip), then flying out to our honeymoon the day after that, which will go from Sunday to Sunday.
I'm interested in using Silica Gel, however will it cause problems since we'll be gone for at least 9 days?
If so, what is good to use that will last that long that will still maintain the fresh color and look of my bouquet?
The flowers I am using are hydrangeas, marigolds, roses and some baby's breath.
Thank you.
Preserving Bridal Bouquet?
To me, it's a waste of money. I would just save one flower of each type and put them into a frame with a picture of the bouquet.
If you want it done perfectly, try a LARGE local florist. Some of them offer a feeze drying service.
Reply:I don't really know the answer, but you might want to give the job to someone in your bridal party since after the wedding is your honeymoon and you shouldn't have to be worrying about your bouquet.

Sorry knot.com members. My bouqet (the color of the roses- light pink/champagne color) then I will have baby's breath and stephanois: http://www.theknot.com/kl_vendordetail.h...
My bouqet:
Ok my dress are in, what flowers would go with the dress updated:?
I think you should go with a color that matches your reception. You sem to be using light pink and champagn for yours so I would maybe use a darker pink and champagne or two shades of pink for the bridesmaids. If you pick two main colors and one accent color and carry it throughout the ceremony and reception you can't go wrong!
Reply:The bridesmaid dresses should be the same colour or in the same tone as the flowers you are going to use. You want to make this colour memorable, so decorating the room your wedding is going to take place in too. I love it when I go to weddings, I remember the colour that was present. :D
Reply:I think the gerbera's are all wrong. Follow the rose theme with your bridesmaids - or something a bit more classic, they just seem to clash with the traditional line of the dress.
Reply:I really like your colors you have now. Otherwise it might clash. Congrats in June!
Reply:Your colors for flowers are very pretty. Stay with them.

May I offer you a poem, Mademoiselle?
Morning Glory
Alone stirring in my despair,
Restless fears would never cease.
Pining for hope, which seemed so rare,
You uprooted me with peace.
Softly like snow-on-the-mountain,
Airy like love-in-a-mist,
You gently nurtured me with care
Like petals by dawn's light kiss'd.
The glow of your skin, carnation-
A Venus, your looks entice-
Cute as a black-eyed susan-
My own bird of paradise.
For one so sweet and innocent
To arouse me from my death!
You show'r me with "forget-me-not's"
And whisper in baby's breath.
A rose sun blossoms in the sky,
The start of a new story.
It feels so good to be alive,
Thanks to my morning glory!

I dont know anyone ideas?
I'm getting mixed signals.
One of my guy friends is driving me crazy.
We used to date first off.
I mean we're always flirting but thats our thing so i never normally take that seriously.
And lately we've been hanging out quite alot lately.
When him and his girlfriend were dating a few weeks ago he would come down to my house which is so much farther away then hers instead of going to hers. Also we went to the movies with our other friends and there was a preview and i go omg he is so cute to a guy in a preview and he got up and went to the front of the theater.
And for valentines day this year he gave me a gorgeous red rose with baby's breath.
We were talking and he goes what guy wants his ex going out with another guy i mean come on, and if u dated anyone else i'd be pissed.
I just dont know what to think.
I dont know anyone ideas?
Yeah, my advice would be for you to stay away from datig this guy ...... he seems really confused on what he wants ......

I'm not sure if it's a wives tale or it's a real threat?
I've heard that cats can harm a baby. Like the old saying "cats steal a baby's breath". I know thats not completly ture. But what is the real threat of have any kind of animal around a new born. I was raised with 5 cats, numerous birds and and 3 dogs (half wolf, one pit, and a yorkie). So I know I'm fine. But some of my friends are telling me I have to get rid of my 2 cats. I love my cats and I dont want to get rid of them. I ask my doctor when I saw him at the store the other day and he laughed and walked off. I'm curious to know how everyone dealt with thier pets and newborns. Please help. Thanks in advance!
I'm not sure if it's a wives tale or it's a real threat?
There is absolutely no reason for you to get rid of your cats at all!!!! The whole ides of cats taking a baby's breathe away is some cats like to snuggle, and they could snuggle up to a newborn and suffocate it. I've never read of a case of this actually happening though!! They make nets that you can get to cover a crib so cats can't get into the crib. I'd get one of those if I was nervous.
Raising kids with cats and dogs actually helps to reduce their chances of allergies and asthma. I wish i could attach the link to the study, but I listened to it being reported on a morning talk show on NBC about three years ago.
Good luck!!
Reply:Old Wives tale.... Just keep and eye open when the baby and the cats are in the same room because if you had baby your cats they do get jealous but i haven't heard anything about them hurting babies... teach the cats and the dogs to love the baby and they will.
Reply:The only threat is from the cat litter itself. If you are pregnant do not change cat litter, it can be harmful to you and your baby.
Reply:It depends on your pets personalities. The chances of them getting jealous are slim because they are already having to share attention with each other. That is more likely with a one-pet household. We had 2 cats with the arrival of both of our kids and it was fine. Just don't handle the litterbox while you are pregnant. After the baby comes it is fine, but there is a concern about getting Toxoplasmosis when you are around cat poop and you are pregnant. Less of a concern there if they are all inside cats. Good luck and hope that helps.
Reply:wive's tale- i have two cats and they are just fine with my baby- he's 7 1/2 months
i can even out breastmilk right in front of their face and they wont touch it but they'll hunt for cows milk hahha- people belive anything they hear- sometime a caat might try to lay on your baby since they are warm but if you watch them then you should be fine- my cats tend to stay away from my son because he pulls their hair lol they have never sratched a soul though
Reply:No you may not need to get rid of the cats. Wait until the baby is born. Many children have no problem with cats. You do need to train the cats to stay away from baby's bed. They won't steal the baby's breath but will leave hair in the bed, extra litter from their paws etc.
Reply:Well, it's not an old wives tale. Cat poop is actually what is harmful.. but if you have indoor cats, then it's okay. The reason they say this about cats is because cats eat raw things.. raw birds, raw mice, etc. and then poop it out... and transfer this bacteria in their poop. It's the same reason they say to never change cat liter while you are pregnant. I don't think I would go so far as to giving your cats away. If you have strictly outdoor cats, your baby won't go near the cat poop anyways, if they are strictly indoor, they can't eat anything harmful to show up their poop, so again, your baby is safe. Hope this helps.
Reply:Seriously I regard cats as threat to my infants but not babies. Well what I do is I try not to interact too much with my cats when I am pregnant. You dont need to get rid of your cats simply dont spend too much time with them because their furs are so soft it will enter our respiration system in no time. (if you are pregnant).
Are your cats indoor cats ? do they wander outdoor frequently?
Toxoplasmosis can cause birth defects in children, pregnant women sometimes assume that they must get rid of their cat. This is entirely unnecessary, as a few simple measures will thoroughly safeguard against catching the disease, especially from your cat. Toxoplasmosis is a disease caused by a parasite that can infect your cat if she eats prey already harboring the parasite or comes into contact with contaminated soil. Toxoplasmosis is rare among indoor-only cats.
Reply:Old wives' tale.
Listen to your doctor.
Reply:That theory comes from cats picking up the smell of milk on a baby's breath and licking the baby in the mouth. This will happen if you don't watch the cats around the baby. It's not necessarily that they steal the baby's breath although newborn baby's have to make a concious effort to breath and this could be a distraction, and it's gross. Most animals are afraid to be around babies. It's like they know that they are fragile. I'd just be sure to keep an eye on the cats when the baby is napping. I doubt they would mess with the baby while it is awake. Eventually the cats will get use to the baby being there, and know that they are not to mess with it.
Reply:I have a Yorkie I don't let her come around my baby or the baby's things, I guess because a baby is very sensitive and you never know just keep your cats and keep them from coming near your baby their animals and they are dirty and they can get jealous you don't need to get rid of them just be careful!

Now, cats have hurt babies, any animal can. Just watch out because cats can be more easily annoyed by a baby because they're too small to put up with a child playing.
I haven't heard of dogs getting jealous of a baby or anything. Just watch for the cat claws, and don't leave the baby alone with any animal.
Enjoy your pets and your baby. :)
edit: As for the part you added about a cat laying on top of the baby, either close the door to the baby's room or keep the cats out some other way. Again, a baby should never be left alone with any animal.

The cats have scratched them a few times, but only out of defense and not very badly. Really, there is nothing to worry about.
Reply:I think it's an old wives tale - I believe it stems from the belief that the cat will smell the milk on a baby's breath.
So I am doing these for the bridemaid flowers, can I do this for my bouqet?
Bridemaid flowers:

Bridemaid dresses: creme and bronze (creme sash)
The color of the flowers in the bridemaid hands I would like to do for mine:

Would that be ok??
If not any other ideas: I have roses and stephonios and baby's breath.
So I am doing these for the bridemaid flowers, can I do this for my bouqet?
I like the colors of the second picture, and I think that would go great with what your bridesmaids have.
Reply:That would look fine, although there's not much color there.
My bridesmaid's bouquets were smaller versions of mine.
Reply:Of course you can do whatever you want and I think it will be great!! I think it looks better when the bridesmaids are completely different from the bride. I did mine as round bouquets for the bridesmaids and then for mine I did a cascading bouquet and used different colors. I think this will look awesome!! Congratulations!!
Reply:I think you have great taste!! I LOVE the hydrangeas! :)

What do you think these lyrics mean?
When I was young I knew everything
and she a punk who rarely ever took advice
Now I'm guilt stricken, sobbing with my head on the floor
Stop a baby's breath and a shoe full of rice, no
can't be held responsible
'Cause she was touching her face
I won't be held responsible
She fell in love in the first place
For the life of me I cannot remember
What made us think that we were wise and we'd never compromise
For the life of me I cannot believe we'd ever died for these sins
We were merely freshmen
My best friend took a week's vacation to forget her
His girl took a week's worth of valium and slept and
Now he's guilt stricken sobbing with his head on the floor
Thinks about her now and how he never really wept he says
I can't be held responsible
'Cause she was touching her face
I won't be held responsible
She fell in love in the first place
For the life of me I cannot remember
What made us think that we were wise and we'd never compromise
For the life of me I cannot believe we'd ever die for these sins
We were merely freshmen
We've tried to wash our hands of all of this
We never talk of our lacking relationships
And how we're guilt stricken sobbing with our heads on the floor
We fell through the ice when we tried not to slip, we'd say
I can't be held responsible
'Cause she was touching her face
I won't be held responsible
She fell in love in the first place
For the life of me I cannot remember

With imaginary friends like these, who needs imaginary enemies?
Mr. Binkles, my invisible floating manatee pal, arrived for our daily breakfast meeting carrying a bloody pillow case.
"Gosh, Mr. Binkles," I said, lowering my tea cup, "that's one ghastly looking item you've got there!"
"Here," said the kindly manatee, handing me the pillow case. As he feasted on toaster strudel, I peered inside.
"My God," I said, poking through the gristly contents, "It's the cut-up remains of that pesky Jared, the former Subway Sandwich commercial guy!"
"And looking thinner than ever!" chortled the mammal, "surprised?"
"Well, yes," I said, handing back the bag as the distant din of police sirens grew steadily louder and closer. "But why?"
"Didn't you once say you wanted a blood-speckled case full of mangled Subway's pest sans fists and knees?"
"No, I said I'd like a blue deco vase full of mingled baby's breath and swiss pansies."
Mr. Binkles paused.
"Boy, did I ever hear THAT one wrong!"
I explained this to the cops, but I'm still in jail.
With imaginary friends like these, who needs imaginary enemies?
Poor you, choosing an imaginary friend who is auditively challenged. Might I suggest, in future, that you ensure that imaginary friends are equipped with full sensory capacity?
As your imagination is so fruitful, I suggest you invent an imaginary muscly, dominant chap to protect you in prison, until your imaginary crack attorney arrives to whip out a stunning piece of evidence in your favour at precisely the right moment during your trial, in order to stun the jury into gasps of surprise, which will lead to the inevitable annoyed gavel-rap from the frustrated judge as he announces "case dismissed". With your creative skill Mr Dalek, anything is possible. I'm off now, to imagine a billionaire friend who will bail me out concerning my outrageous electricity bill. Au revoir.

So I got my girlfriend 5 dozen red roses for valentines day and ...?
they didn't come pre-arranged, I ordered them from proflowers.com and sent them to me, so i could give them to her in person. I've tried arranging them 3 times and they look like crap! They came with leaves and baby's breath...
Now that I cant arrange them, I was thinking of other ideas I could do for her like spread them all over her car?%26gt; or something of that sort...
Any ideas that would be a creative thing for me to do with them?
Any help would be great! thanks-
So I got my girlfriend 5 dozen red roses for valentines day and ...?
Take a bunch of the petals and lead them from the doorway into somewhere in your house where you'll be standing with the rest of the roses, arms wide open! It's the thought that you took time to arrange anything at all that makes it special :)
Reply:Sh!t - how's your wallet? Light? Way to kill the plants.
Oh yeah, pro flowers never gives a vase unless you order them too. Buy a twelve pack of bottles, drink them all, and use the empties for the flowers.
Reply:Cut the stems in different sizes, place the shortest ones on the outside of the vase, then the longer ones in the middles, just let them fall naturally :)
Yes get a vase!
if you gave them to her, then trust me, she will love them no matter, but please.......... don't spread them on her car.......
Reply:spread them on the bed like the petals that would be nice
Reply:Dont waste your money on flowers.
Besides that, dont use the leaves, try just baby's breath, it looks much better that way. And dont try to hard, the more you fuss, the worse it looks.
Reply:I wouldn't mind receiving them in their boxes and arranging them myself. I've always thought it would be great to receive roses in a box. I don't know why. lol
Do not tear off the petals and spread them, that will completely kill the impact.
Reply:They are all good ideas. but you should call and complain to the company so they can refund you or send you more.

Cats and Pregnancy?
I'm pregnant and my baby is due Feb. 13th. A few days ago my husband and I adopted a couple of cats. They are both fixed and have had all their shots. When I told my mother about the cats, she freaked out, and gave me a lecture on everything from how a cat will steal a baby's breath while it's asleep to how they could give the baby and my 4 year old son leukemia. These sound like old wives tales to me.
Is there anything I SHOULD be legitimately worried about when the baby comes?
Cats and Pregnancy?
Re. litterbox comments above: those are correct.
Re. your mother: she's nuts. No offence.
A page you might want to print out for her:
http://www.snopes.com/critters/wild/cats...
"Claim: Cats suck the breath from babies, sometimes killing them.
Status: False."
(With an explanation.)
About the toxoplasmosis risk from the litter: you can have yourself tested; if you've had cats before, there's a good chance that you're immune. The CDC has useful stuff on it --
http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dpd/parasites/...
The leukemia thing strikes me as bizarre. Hmm.
"Veterinarian researchers generally agree that FeLV cannot be transmitted to humans. Some studies have shown a correlation between certain human leukemia and exposure to FeLV-infected cats, but this has not been proven."
http://www.animalhealthchannel.com/FeLV/
If your cats are healthy and indoor-only, I... Oh, for heavens' sakes. Your mother's nuts. Enjoy your kitties and your pregnancy.
Reply:I have 5 cats and am 5 months pregnant and there is no reason to get rid of healthy cats. Just don't change kitty litter while pregnant..lucky husband gets that job for awhile ;-)
About the stealing the breath.. they say that because kitty's are attracted to milk on baby's breath and can suffocate baby. Just don't let kitty's sleep with baby and all will be fine! Good luck!
Reply:Don't worry. If you are worried about a cat smothering your baby, do not let the cat sleep with the baby.
Just make sure your husband changes the kitty litter for now. There can potentially be something bad in the cat droppings that could be harmful right now .... I cannot remember what it is but you can read about it in your pregnancy book.
Do not worry.
Reply:studies show it is unsafe for you to handle dirty kitty litter (Toxoplasma- look it up)
and unsafe to have an infant near dirty kitty litter because of the same. In rare cases,
It can result in SIDS.
Reply:You just shouldn't change their litter boxes while you are pregnant. I have 4 cats and the dr just told me not to change the litter.
Reply:omg haha no, cats are very clean animals
holy cow, thats not very nice of your mom to say that :S
Reply:Yep, old " Mother's" tale. ;o)
http://thelongestlistofthelongeststuffat...
Reply:The only thing is - as said - have hubby change the cat litter while pregnant and breastfeeding.
(and as long afterwards as you can get him to!)
But seriously, there is a very rare problem that is easily avoided by not being exposed to cat leavings. (It isn't the litter that's the problem, if you know what I mean!)
Reply:Kitty litter can be dangerous on your pregnancy even at this late date.
I can understand your mother freaking out even though it was for the wrong reason. It seems you have enough responsiblies with your son's condition now a new baby.
Reply:good grief!!! is the woman on drugs or something?? Just don't handle the litter tray whilst pregnant for fear of toxoplasmosis and make sure the cats cannot get into the babys crib. They like the warm milky smell of babies and just wanna cuddle up to them. Not a good idea with a tiny baby. Heard it was a bit of a myth that cats smother babies but Im not taking any chances, but refuse to get rid of my beautiful fluffy babies, so have brought a crib cat net. I think everything will be ok if u are sensible
PS - cats DO NOT pass on feline HIV to humans, that is just a silly thing to state.
Reply:Oh wow, those ARE old wives tales! The only thing you need to worry about is make sure you don't change the cat litter while you're pregnant. There's a germ in there that could cause problems.
Other than that, cats are excellent pets because they practically take care of themselves, and they're awesome with kids.
Reply:They are old wifes tales. But you should never change the litter box while preg. Also have the cats check for feline AIDS they can give that to you or your son. Talk to your doc just in case.
Reply:oh lol-silly mothers--they are definately old wives tales--if not, no one would have cats, lol
the only thing I'd worry about is if you adopted them from a shelter--be careful of changing their litter OR by getting scratched by them--that goes for you and the kids.
the cat scratch fever is very common in animals adopted from shelters because of being around so many cats-and you dont know where they came from, if they were strays, etc etc.
when I was 5 months-we adopted a kitten from the shelter, he ended up scratching me -the doctor monitored the scratch for the cat scratch disease--but everything was ok.
good luck and enjoy your new kitties!

Has anyone tried Loreal Paris Dream Blonde Haircolor?
I am thinking of buying the shade Glistening Magnolia 11-Extra Light Blonde. I know that they had a recall but it was only for the shade called Baby's Breath 100-Bleach. So have any of you tried it? How were your results? If you have a picture of yourself with results I would like to see it too if not thats okay
Has anyone tried Loreal Paris Dream Blonde Haircolor?
I have not tried the product. Loreal has a terrible record for testing its products on animals which is very cruel. There are products out there that do not test, you can find them by asking your humane society for a cruelty free list. I use De Lorenzo colours for this very reason. Before taking anyones recommendation on Blonde colour you should probably tell us about your natural and current hair colour and skin tone because blonde won't look good on everybody.

Baby's Breath?
Do anyone Know where can i get baby's breath seed in Singapore??
*baby breath is a flower
Baby's Breath?
Jasmine, try a plant store or a seed catalog. If baby's breath cuttings are used by florists in Sinapore, I can't really see why the government would be against you acquiring seed for your own garden.
In your phone directory, look under garden supplies or garden centers.
I hope this helps you. (By the way, you live in a beautiful place.)

What is this song about?
The song is "Freshman" by Bronson Arroyo...
What is this song really about?
What does he mean by "Stop a baby's breath and a shoe full of rice?"
Link to the song: http://youtube.com/watch?v=9m4lziDLAEg
Lyrics: http://www.sing365.com/music/lyric.nsf/F...
What is this song about?
The actual song that charted was billed to The Verve Pipe in the 90's.
To me, the writer's friend was dating a girl and she OD'ed on valium a week after they broke up. Both men feel some guilt but it isn't clear why. I believe before she died she indicated she wanted a physical moment with the writer, but again it is not clearly defined.
Baby's breath is a small white flower used as decoration for many larger bouquets. "Stop a baby's breath" may have double meaning other than killing a romance as she may have told the ex-boyfriend she was pregnant but wanted to abort it and didn't want to get married. The line "shoe full of rice" could indicate a wedding, where rice is thrown and can get in your shoes.

search the lyrics of the song the freshman by verve pipe.
tell me what you think..
some lines are..
"Stop a baby's breath and a shoeful of rice now"
"My best friend took a week's vacation to forget her
His girl took a week's worth of Valium and slept "
it's already a fact that she had an abortion..
but they say that she did not commit suicide.. and it was just made up by Brad Vader Ark the lead singer. but!! why make it up? i think she did so.. and for some reason they had to deny it.
what do you think?

Reply:it is fine
Reply:I know that songwriters aren't always writing about real life. At times a song is not much more than imagery.
Often it is a combination of fact and fiction. Only the writer knows for sure. So, it's not feasible to make the connection.

Got some music trivia 4 ya! Tell me band, song and album!?
Song#1
Little boy made a mistake,
Pink cloud has now turned to grey,
All that I want is to play,
Get on your knees, time to pray, boy......
Song #2
They live their lives in fear and insecurity,
And all you do is pay for their prosperity,
The ministry of fear that won't let you live,
The ministry of grace that doesn't forgive...

Here I come,
My mind is set,
Get ready for love,
You're my ten second pet...
Song#4
I find it such a shame,
Through the pain I see things as they are,
We're served up on a plate,
The pedistal is high enough to fall.....

Meat eating orchids forgive no one just yet,
Cut myself on angel's hair and baby's breath,
Broken hyman of your highness I'm left black,
Throw down your umbilical noose so I can climb right back...

Which song is that? Do you know it?
Some of the song's words are:
...In death car, we are alive...
the taste of baby's breath makes me forget the death...
in your age I was joking... etc
I almost said the whole song, but still need the title!
THANK YOU!

I don't know if this could really count as a poem?....?
does it count as a poem? and it doesn't rhyme.
title-i am what i am
I am as old as air,
new as a baby's breath.
i am a prison.
i am the key.
i am the knife that cuts,
the salve that heals.
i am a weapon.
i am a gesture of peace.
i am longed for and hated,
cursed and loved,
sought and despised.
more lies are told in my name
than there are birds in the air.
i bring pain and i bring relief.
i bring sorrow and i bring joy.
i am what i am.
I don't know if this could really count as a poem?....?
i am a weapon.
i am a gesture of peace.
i am longed for and hated,
You don't have to repeat 'i am'. Just go straight into 'a gesture... and ...longed for...'. Following the initial line, the reader will be able to see that all the latter statements refer to the self.

What do you think this song means?
When I was young I knew everything
She a punk who rarely ever took advice
Now I'm guilt stricken,
Sobbing with my head on the floor
Stop a baby's breath and a shoe full of rice
I can't be held responsible
She was touching her face
I won't be held responsible
She fell in love in the first place
For the life of me I cannot remember
What made us think that we were wise and
We'd never compromise
For the life of me I cannot believe
We'd ever die for these sins
We were merely freshmen
My best friend took a week's
Vacation to forget her
His girl took a weeks's worth of
Valium and slept
And now he's guilt stricken sobbing with his
Head on the floor
Thinks about her now and how he never really
Wept he says
I can't be held responsible
She was touching her face
I won't be held responsible
She fell in love in the first place
What do you think this song means?
sounds like abortion %26amp; suicide...sad song.
Reply:Basically, it's a couple of guys who did something awful to a girl back when they were freshmen, maybe rape, maybe murder, maybe both. Now they feel guilty though they didn't get caught. They don't talk about that page in their history. They deny they were responsible though they really were. They try to justify it by saying that they didn't know better, they were freshmen. Even though they may never be prosecuted, their guilt is tearing them apart.

They mean alot to me because the band performed at my high school last year. It makes you think about everything and not look past anything. Don't take anything for granted.

Reply:"We were merely freshmen" It means just that to me. To look back only a few years and think of all the people those few years have taken is bone-chilling. Life is an unsolved mystery... especially when you loose friends at a young age.
And she a punk who rarely ever took advice
Now I'm guilt stricken, sobbing with my head on the floor
Stop a baby's breath and a shoe full of rice
I can't be held responsible
'Cause she was touching her face
I won't be held responsible
She fell in love in the first place
For the life of me I cannot remember
What made us think that we were wise and we'd never compromise
For the life of me I cannot believe we'd ever die for these sins
We were merely freshmen
My best friend took a week's vacation to forget her
His girl took a week's worth of Valium and slept
Now he's guilt stricken sobbing with his head on the floor
Thinks about her now and how he never really wept he says
I can't be held responsible
'Cause she was touching her face
I won't be held responsible
She fell in love in the first place
For the life of me I cannot remember
hat made us think that we were wise and we'd never compromise

Is this corny?
I'm planning on doing something for my girlfriends birthday, but I don't have much money at all. Then I thought about getting some candles and some accent stones and setting those up around my room. Then I was going to buy her favorite ice cream for her...and I also planned on us cuddling on my bed watching Love and Basketball [her favorite romantic movie]. I was thinking I might buy her a stuffed animal or something but she already has one that I'd given to her in the beginning of July so I didn't know if that would be a good idea. but then again I dont know what else I could get her that wouldnt be to expensive... I also gave her fake baby's breath when I bought her the first stuffed animal...so...yeah I'd appreciate any feedback. :]
Is this corny?
Sounds very sweet and thoughtful. You can also try cooking her a dinner, drawing her a bubble bath, giving her a massage, and buying a single rose (or a dozen if you've got the change). Since you've already gotten her a stuffed animal, I'd say pass up the animal thing for a later time. You can also pick her up from work (if you're getting her flowers or chocolate, this would be the time to bring them with you) so she can show off her wonderfully sweet boyfriend to her co-workers.
Good luck. :)
Reply:It does sound a little corny, but it's absolutely romantic. She would greatly appreciate it.
Reply:AWW I THINK THATS SWEET! MAYBE YOU COULD PICK HER A FEW WILDFLOWERS, THEY ARE FREE!
Reply:give her one red rose, and do the thing with candles, watching her favorite movie and giving her ice cream. that would be sweet
Reply:sounds very sweet....maybe you can get her a long stem red rose...that doesnt cost much at all
Reply:this is making me laugh. do guys really think this stuff. she'll love it i promise. just for future reference (to whomever) for my birthday you can feed me brownie affair dove ice cream and hold me all night. i am fine
Reply:get your girlfriend some roses (they don't have to be majorly expensive) and get a card and write something really meaningful, something that she will cherish forever!
Reply:that all sounds perfect. instead of a stuffed animal this time, maybe find out what her favorite flower is and get her one of those (example: single rose) i always found a single flower to be very romantic more so than a dozen. it's like saying shes the only one. good luck. :)
Reply:not corny at all. I would love for my husband to do something like that for me.

Is the old wise tale true??...?
can a cat can steal a baby's breath?? Just wondering if I should worry about my cat smothering my baby when its born??
Is the old wise tale true??...?
Wives tale... and no, I don't believe that to be true (though I have heard stories of cats being really nasty when the baby comes, peeing on stuff, etc.)
Reply:Its not true.But I would worry about the cat climbing into the crib with your baby.
Reply:No...stealing a baby's breath-not possible. I have heard of cats laying/falling asleep on top of baby's head causing suffocation. That is why you should not have a cat near your baby unsupervised.
Reply:False.
Reply:False..Don`t worry.
Reply:No, it's not true. BUT, now there's reason to believe that cats can get babies sick. This is only if the cat is licking the baby's face, remember what your cat does. He walks in the kitty litter, walkes out, licks it's paws, cleans itself. Where do you think that tounge has been when he's licking the babies face?
Already when you are pregnant you know you need to stay away from cleaning the litter box, cats, carry a disease in their waste that is very harmful to you and your baby while pregnant. However I am not sure if it has the same risk if any to a newborn. But I would still be cautious about it, ask the doctor on the safe side, no harm in asking.
If you are concerned though that the cat may lay in with the baby, yes there is a problem, as silly as it sounds, really the cat can curl up with the baby and may cover it's face up. I really doubt it would happen though, but if they did happen to cuddle up with baby in the crib, you really don' t know what the cat would do. So if the cat has been taking little naps in the crib buy a crib net, they sell them at amazon, not sure if it's called a net but it would be in with the cribs. It covered the top of the crib like a tent, zips up. Crib tent, maybe that's what it's called.
Also I would think about the cat hair, I know from my cats when I did have them they shed alot, and to a newborn or infant it could be a slight problem, little nose, lots of hair. But again I doubt something could happen as sufficating a baby, but still, I wouldn't take chances if the cat has taking a liking to where the baby is sleeping.
Hope that helped and at the same time didn't make things worse for you. Good luck with the kitty!
Reply:a cat may get at a babies mouth if they smell milk just keep the cat away from the baby when its in bed my daughter has 2 cats and never had any trouble just being curious of the baby
Reply:No that is just an old wifes tale no need to worry
Reply:No, old wives tale. In fact, many animals (including cats) will become very protective of the new baby in the household.
Reply:what they do is get up around the baby (they are attracted to the milk smell) and if they are in the babys face and they lick on the babys mouth, that can smother baby!! they also like laying by/around them!! by the way, you do know that your not supposed to be changing the litterbox dont ya!!??? very important!!!!
Reply:I've heard that particular superstition. The only realistic relevancy I have ever heard is this:
The cat is interested in anything you are interested in. It may feel jealousy over the baby, sure, but it is usually just interest. Also, every animal knows what a baby is. I have heard stories (not factual reports, mind you) of cats, being overcome by their interest in the young human, and lay on the baby, thereby inadvertently smothering the baby.
I imagine the baby would wake up and cry or something, but perhaps not. Maybe the story came from times when infants would commonly die, and medical knowledge was not up to the task of proper diagnosis. Meanwhile the cat was just trying to draw draw attention to the poor, dead baby. Female cats can be very motherly, especially if they have had a litter.
Sounds fishy to me. I don't think you should obsess about your cat smothering baby, but I think you should manage your cat's access to your baby. Supervise them. It would be the worst thing in the world if something awful happened. Sometimes the cat can freak and scratch the baby, but that isn't so bad.
Reply:no this is not true.. though there is some disease (sorry cant remember what its called sorry that doesnt help much) that can come from cats while you are pregnant i believe.. i would look it up.. but cats cannot take a babies breath after the baby is born.. unless u allow the cat to sleep on the babies face or something.. your baby will be fine..

I'm looking for some help on finding a dozen lilacs with an assortment of other flowers (baby's breath, etc..) , My girlfriend is more non-traditional and I'm having a heck of a time finding lilacs anywhere. She also likes greens and lighter blues. I'm stressing out majorly trying to find these. Any help would be incredibly appreciated.

I need help with my math homework......... can someone show or tell me how to work this problem?
1.) You want to buy a bouquet of yellow roses and baby's breath for $16. The baby's breath costs $3.50 per bunch, and the roses cost $2.50 each. You want one bunch of baby's breath and some roses for your bouguet. How many roses can you buy?
My teach wants me to write the equation so yeah. PLEASE HELP ME?!?!?!

i dnt want to do math

Reply:You do this....

-03.50 this is the babys breath!
______
12.50 then you divide by 2.50 to find the number or roses you can get
the answere is 5
Reply:tell him six bucks for a rose and baby breath because times are hard. $2.50 + $3.50 = $6.00 and your done!
Reply:16=3.50 + 2.50 x
subtract 3.50 from both sides and then divide by 2.50 on each side
Reply:ok heres what to do you have sixteen dollars so you only want one bunch of baby's breath so take 3.50 from sixteen
16.00
-3.50
``````````
12.50
then take the remaining 12.50 and see how many times 2.50 will go into it..(or multiply 2.50 untill you reach the closest number to 12.50)
12.50 / 2.50 ( / = divide sign)(which will come up five)
or
2.50 x 5 (in this case the awnser is five)
so the awnser would be you can buy five roses
hope this helps
Reply:its 5 batches of roses i think i just need the pionts so i dont think i'm right i just made my answer up..what grade are you in that is the easiest question just i dont feel like doing math right now srry...
Reply:it is quite simple.
let x be the no. of bouquets and y b the no. of baby's breaths you buy.
1. you bought one bouquet of yellow roses. so, the amount you have is 16-2.50 = 15.50$.
let x be the no. of baby's breaths you can buy.
so, x*3.5=13.5 =%26gt;x=13.5/3.5 = 3.86. since you cant buy a fraction of it, you can only buy three of this.
so, youbuy one bouquet of rose and 3 bouquets of baby roses.
or, similarly, if you buy one bby's breatj, you are left with 16-3.50=12.50.
so, the no. of roses you can buy is 12.50/2.50=5 roses.
:)
Reply:16= 3.50b + 2.50r (b for babys breath, r for roses)
16= 3.50(1) + 2.50r
16 - 3.50 =2.50r
12.50 = 2.50r
r =12.50/2.50
r=5
so you can buy five roses.
Reply:OK. Let C=Cash available = $16.
Let B = cost of baby's breath (bunch)= $3.50.
Let R = cost of 1 rose = $2.50
Let N=no. of roses.
Firstly C-B = $16- $3.50= $12.50.
Secondly $12.50/R= 5
You can therefore buy 5 roses.
Equation might be (C-B)/R =N
Hope this helps.
im doing a play on my future wedding comedy/drama cala lilys are my favorite flowers beside hibiscus, and baby's breath....
White cala lily... is that a good wedding flower?
Im afraid i allways put lillys with funurels
Reply:They are very nice for a wedding. I had the white ones when i got married i held them with the long steams and a purple ribbon wrapped around the stem all the way down . the only thing is it all depends on the time of year you get married i got married in aug. and they were not in season then so it was very expensive to get fresh so i opted for silk they were still very nice and looked real
Reply:I love calla lilies and I hope to be able to use them for my own wedding; however, many people, especially here in the South, consider the Calla Lily a flower best suited for funerals. If you ask my mother, marriages might as well be funerals.
Reply:Yeah, I agree with Janet. For some reason I link cala lilies to funerals. But people seem to like them for weddings too. I'd cut out the anthers though, if you get that on your dress it's very hard to get out.
Reply:Calla lilies are beautiful wedding flowers. Look at the fourth photo down on this page.
Need math help?
i am not trying to cheat i am just asking for the equation and how u get it from this story problem. the story problem is:
You want to buy a bouquet of yellow flowers roses and baby's breath for $16. The baby's breath costs $3.50 per bunch, and the roses cost $2.50 each. You want one bunch of baby's breath and some roses for your bouquet. How many roses can u buy.
best awnser will be decided on the first peron who can list the equation and how to get first and i also can understand it.
Need math help?
y (price)+ b(price) = $16
bPrice = $3.50
yprice = $2.50 each
y(2.50) + (1)($3.50) = $16
y = (16 - 3.50)/2.50
y = 5 roses
Reply:$3.50+$2.50r=$16
$2.50r=$16-$3.50
$2.50r=$12.50
r=$12.50/$2.50
r=5
Reply:x=baby breath
y=roses
x=3.50
y=2.50
16=x+2.50y
16=3.50+2.50y
16-3.50=2.50y
12.50=2.50y
12.50/2.50=y
5=y
u can buy 5 roses
Reply:3.50+2.50=6.00 ( 1 rose, and 1 baby) so 16.00-6.00=10.00 so you have 10.00 left for roses, so you can divide 2.50 into 10, and you get 4 so you can have 5 roses, and 1 baby breath.
Reply:Equation:
3.5x + 2.5y = 16 (where x: baby breath and y: roses)
since u just want 1 bunch of baby's breath therefore:
3.5(1) + 2.5y = 16
2.5y = 12.5
y = 5
hence you can buy 5 roses
Reply:r = 5 roses
Reply:+ b = $16
r+ b = $3.50
r = $2.50 each
2.50y + $3.50 = $16
r = (16 - 3.50)/2.50
r = 5 roses
good luck!
Reply:$16-$3.50=$2.50X
Take 16-3.50, then divide it by 2.50. You can buy 5 roses.
y = (16 - 3.50)/2.50
y = 5 roses
Reply:$3.50+$2.50r=$16
$2.50r=$16-$3.50
$2.50r=$12.50
r=$12.50/$2.50
r=5
Reply:x=baby breath
y=roses
x=3.50
y=2.50
16=x+2.50y
16=3.50+2.50y
16-3.50=2.50y
12.50=2.50y
12.50/2.50=y
5=y
u can buy 5 roses
Reply:3.50+2.50=6.00 ( 1 rose, and 1 baby) so 16.00-6.00=10.00 so you have 10.00 left for roses, so you can divide 2.50 into 10, and you get 4 so you can have 5 roses, and 1 baby breath.
Reply:Equation:
3.5x + 2.5y = 16 (where x: baby breath and y: roses)
since u just want 1 bunch of baby's breath therefore:
3.5(1) + 2.5y = 16
2.5y = 12.5
y = 5
hence you can buy 5 roses
Reply:r = 5 roses
Reply:+ b = $16
r+ b = $3.50
r = $2.50 each
2.50y + $3.50 = $16
r = (16 - 3.50)/2.50
r = 5 roses
good luck!
Reply:$16-$3.50=$2.50X
Take 16-3.50, then divide it by 2.50. You can buy 5 roses.
What's the meaning of this song HEART-SHAPED BOX by nirvana/evanescence?
She eyes me like a pisces when I am weak
I've been locked inside your Heart Shaped box for weeks
I've been drawn into your magnet tar pit trap
I wish I could eat your cancer when you turn black
Hey!
Wait!
I've got a little complaint
Forever in debt to your priceless advice
hate!
haight!
I've got a little complaint
Forever in debt to your priceless advice
Hey!
Wait!
I've got a little complaint
Forever in debt to your priceless advice
...your advice
Meat-eating orchids forgive no one just yet
Cut myself on Angel Hair and baby's breath
Broken hymen of your highness I'm left black
Throw down your umbilical noose so I can climb right back
Okay, to simplify this, it'll be the heartless girl the song is about and the guy who is trapped by it. This is my own interpretation of the lyrics without outside influence, so I could be way off.
The girl he's with is controling and has a higher-than-thou attitude, and he feels trapped in the relationship. The heart-shaped box is saying she doesn't have a heart, just an imitation, and also implies the cage he feels in locked in. He considers her magnetic and beautiful, but deadly at the same time (Magnetic tar pit and Meat-eating orchid[the orchid and the mention of cancer implies that she is internaly weak at the very core]). She obviously thinks of herself higher than him, since her advice is priceless, and since he calls her 'highness'.
The song is about him trying to break away and leave her, but he can't, he's connected to her, as much as he doesn't seem to want to be; he asks her to throw down her umbilical noose(implying a motherly connection that is unbreakable and a sucide) so he can voluntarily climb back into the relationship, for what reason, no one knows.
Reply:I think that all depends on your sense of awareness at the moment like are drugs involved or are you sober?????
Reply:I was once told by a friend that the best songs are the ones that leave the lyrics open to interpretation. I think that this is one of those songs.
About this song in particular, an ex-bf told me that the song is about sex.
