What could cause my Infant's Breath to Smell Like Beer???

Hello. I have an 8-month old who I've noticed the past couple times when I pick him up from daycare that his breath smells like he just had a beer!!!! I've asked the sitter about it and she hasn't ever noticed the smell. He often eats lentil soup - does anyone know whether this could cause his breath to smell like a hoppy beer??? I'm about to go crazy if I think for one minute that the daycare could be giving him beer!!! Has anyone else ever noticed a beer-like smell on their baby's breath???

What could cause my Infant's Breath to Smell Like Beer???
make a doctors appointment for the next time you pick him up and have his blood alcohol levels checked

then i would sue the **** out of her if he is getting beer!!!
Reply:He may thrush... or excess yeast on the tongue and inside of the mouth. It is a common condition for babies and can be treated easily.
Reply:Yeah umm I would start asking lots and lots of questions.
Reply:maybe cereal put in his formula instead of spoon feeding it to him??

or perhaps thrush? but you'd notice trush all the time...

if you can't find the reason I'd take him from the day care to his doctor they could maybe determin the cause or at least try a blood test to check his blood alcohol level..

giving a baby any amount of beer could be deadly!!
Reply:Awful young for rehab I guess.
Reply:Very likely it's thrush, very common. It's easily treated. If you breastfeed, you need to be treated as well or you will keep infecting each other. I think they use Diflucan.
Reply:most likely it is thrush. I would make a doctors appointment and see what they think the cause could be.
Reply:i would give your Dr a call and just ask what all could make that happen, I mean do waht you can to figure it out, and quick, I konw my daughters breath smells funky but never like beer.
Reply:You need to investigate which adults are around the daycare center in the daytime while your baby is there.

Chances are, the daycare provider has a foolish hubby or bf who thinks its funny to share his beer with babies.
Reply:When my daughter was an infant her breathe smelled like fish which was called by her milk. But if I was you make sure they is not giving your baby beer. It could be caused by what the baby eat or drink.
